it’s up a hill. You may not be dropped at hotel, it depends on coach driver as the road to it is a bit narrow. If you know Beni, the hotel is the far end of Dove park away from walking street and new town. Very Spanish,, which is reflected in the food choices also. If you are not good mobility wise it’s probably not a great location for you.

Stayed in the hotel cabana aka the Barry manilow hotel in November with a friend all inclusive .

When we arrived I was a bit worried as the hotel was just full on Spanish and older Spanish too (turns out it’s some kind of annual holiday ) but don’t let that put you off there were probably less than a dozen English people in the hotel and we got to talk to all of them so made plenty of friends. the Spanish weren’t don’t really drink (just coffee) so there were no queues at the bar at all. We were all inclusive just the usual local spirits and a couple of cocktails so absolutely fine. Bottles of water too included to me which is a plus as I’ve stayed in all in where the water is charged so it’s deffo a benefit as no fridge in room so just grabbed a few bottles to put in room each day.

The best thing about the hotel was the sun around the pool - it’s the first hotel in Benidorm I’ve stayed where the sun isn’t blocked at any part during the day - so if you want to sunbathe all day it’s great. Sun beds were dire a dozen but then it was November so so done know if it’s as easy in the summer.

Location wise is poniente beach end less than a five minute walk to the beach (up steps so no good if mobility issues) then another five minutes along the beach into the old town (the cobbled bit) proper . I tend to go down the strip / new town so that is a good little walk / bar crawl but only a few euros back in a taxi . There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the hotel though down poniente beach and towards the old town so you don’t need to venture that far. If you know where the Burger King is then the hotel is literally 2 mins away from there . Lots of shops bars restaurants etc within a stones throw of the hotel .

For me the downside of the hotel was the food - probably the worse choice of food I’ve ever had on a all inclusive holiday and I’m usually all in trying different things but there just wasn’t enough choice or options - one night it was stewed rabbit and trust me it tasted grim. (The bread was nice though)

The staff were friendly enough the room was clean - towels changed everyday - like I said no queueing at the bar as although the hotel seemed full the Spanish weren’t really drinking . We went out of an evening but what I saw of the entertainment it was Spanish focused so wouldn’t be relying on that.

Would stay there again if just looking for a base and not planning on actually staying in the hotel for long periods of time - the all inclusive I booked on love holidays was as cheap as most other hotels room only so was happy just to get a few drinks in the day by the pool and before I went out out .
